Thieves are a few of my favorite things..


So, it's been nearly a  year since I have begun adding the use of Young Living's Essential Oils into our daily life.  And we are all (hubby included) loving them.  With school starting back up soon, I thought I'd tell you a little bit about one of my favorite oils!  

THIEVES!  This lovely oil blend was inspired by four 15th century French thieves who formulated a special aromatic combination composed of clove, rosemary, and other botanicals they used while robbing the dead and dying.  How's that for a fun tidbit of information!?  

Basically - Thieves may help to support your immune system and help to fight germs.  We mom's need this!  So many ways to use Thieves.  

Ingest. - put in a capsule and swallow away.  Young Living's Oils are 100% therapuetic oils.  There is NOTHING added to them, making them safe and useful in ingestion.  You can also gargle water with it..  put a drop under your tongue.  (warning - it's spicy!  ).  

Diffuse. - I love, love, love the way this smells.  It's great in the fall and winter..  a sort of cinnamon smell and all kinds of yummy.  Diffuse it helps to purify the air and build immunity as you inhale the vapors of the oils.  

Roll on - we have made up a roller bottle of thieves (18 drops thieves oil, and the rest filled with fractionated coconut oil).  Before the kids head out to the door for school -I roll up and down their spine.  You can also put a drop on their feet and rub in.  (dilute w/ a drop of coconut oil).  

We have used this a lot this past year!  One when kid started getting sick - we upped our usage and it helped protect the rest of us from those yucky germs.  

Young Living has lots of Theives based products too.  We use the Theives cleaner now - in place of all the other spray on cleaners.  I feel so good giving my kids the spray bottle and saying - go clean!  Hannah comments on how good it smells every time.  We also use the Theives toothpaste.  cleaning my teeth and building my immunity at the same time.  Win Win.

Hello November, I'm coming for you!!

So, I think October won.  October definitely had me beat.  Worn out and tired, I can feel the cold weather blah's coming on and October was not productive.  I feel like I trudged through last month in a fog and it's time to get a hold of things and pull back out of it.  So, November here I come and I plan to win.   For Starters, November means getting back  to the Y and exercising.  I had glorious plans of getting into shape, losing some added pounds, pouding the pavement..  I mean, both my kids are in school ALL day now.. I have hours upon hours to exercise and it JUST. HAS. NOT. HAPPENED.  And I could beat myself up over it.  In fact, the jeans getting tighter are doing a fine job of that themselves.. Instead, I'm hitting the Y this month and setting a goal again of 30in30.  I did this a while ago - with running..  30 miles  of running in 30 days..  I'm no where ready to be running 30 miles this month, ...

God knew we needed her.

It's this sweet girls birthday today.  She turns 6.  I remember like it was yesterday..  finding out I was pregnant with her.  Asher was a mere 5 months old.  5 months ya'll.  And I don't think he had slept yet..  well, maybe for only 20 minutes.  He was not a sleeper.  He was a wide awake, curious, alert, round baby.  Which meant Momma had not slept for 5 months either.  I was tired.  I remember standing in our kitchen behind the counter, prepping for dinner when John walked in.  I'm pregnant, I told him.  Again.  We'll have another newborn due the end of October.  And I cried.  I cried, because sometimes finding out you are having a baby is overwhelming.  And I was tired.  And I thought I would never get to sleep again.  EVER.  And how was I supposed to mother and care for another little person who might keep me up all night too.  How?   Oh, HOW, I thank Go...
